georgeb Posted March 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2006 When you book a guarantee room (ie 4a) is one room removed from the lowest deck as being available? In other words do they fill from the bottom up. Then when they assign rooms do the fill from the top down. When I search my cruise now the only thing available is Upper deck up. Is one of the unavailable room mine or have they been assigned to people who booked a particular room? No, carnivals web site hasn't assigned me a room yet. jleq Posted March 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2006 Not necessarily. From what I understand, if you book a "guarantee" you're not assigned a cabin at all. It's in the area of "4a/TBA". You have no cabin....4A or otherwise...until they make "assignments". When they make "assignments"...and they find out more people want 4A cabins than are available....is when the shuffling/upgrading begins

Or is it all just a guessing game anyway.

Carnival might've moved many of the 4a/IS/OS/Balc Guar/all other other applicable cabins to the lower part of the ship just to make sure they don't start selling more cabins than actually exist on the ship. They may well adjust them once "assignments" are handed out
Wennfred Posted March 3, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2006 Bottom up, since the lower deck cabins are cheaper in price and they sale the fastest, thats why they bump you up to open up the lower cabins.
