NewYearNewMe Posted September 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2022 Hi all, does anyone know of a company that offers transfers in a wheelchair adapted vehicle, other than Rome and Italy ? We have been quoted over €1000 for a transfer and some equipment hire and it is simply unaffordable. Trying to figure out our options in terms of public transport ( saving €450) or bringing our own equipment and keeping the transfers ( very difficult as can’t handle much luggage easily but a saving of €700+ ). We’ve not been to Rome before so unsure how easy/accessible the trains are or if there are other providers we just haven’t come across. Thanks in advance for any help. FOPMan Posted September 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2022 You could take the train from Rome. It’s a few hundred meters from the train station to the ship, but that doesn’t resolve Gerri g to the station on Rome or to the ship.
NewYearNewMe Posted September 10, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted September 10, 2022 We have found another provider - if it helps anyone, they are called Fausta transport and also offer some equipment hire. We are not travelling for a few weeks yet so I can’t vouch for them entirely ! https://www.facebook.com/AccessibleTransportationRome/reviews/
FOPMan Posted September 10, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2022 I realize there was a typo- should be getting from the (train) station to the ship. And from the hotel to the train station in Rome proper.
iuki Posted June 25, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2023 (edited) If you’re flying into Rome for a cruise, have you considered having the cruise line pick you up at the airport? For example, Royal Caribbean can make the Air2Sea flight arrangements and then pick you up at the airport and take you to the cruise ship. Of course you would pay for the transportation, but it’s probably cheaper. My SIL swears by having RCI make the arrangements whenever going to Europe. She said it was so stress-free. Just a suggestion. Edited June 25, 2023 by iuki Typo
