A friend and I will be sailing to Nassau in August and will be at port Friday, August 18th 10:00a.m. and will leave port Saturday August 19th. at 7:00a.m. We were wondering what is recommended to do as far as nightlife in Nassau? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

When you enter the cruise terminal from the ships instead of going right with the masses, if you turn left you'll see a brochure wall. Pick up the latest free advertising newspapers called WHAT'S ON - NASSAU & PARADISE ISLAND and BAHAMAS TOURIST NEWS. Various night clubs will have advertising in them. From our recent cruise:

Senor Frogs is located along the waterfront facing the cruiseships, at the end of Bay Street adjacent the British Colonial Hilton. It gets crowded and crazy in there. Walking distance.

Cocktails & Dreams is advertised as Nassau's only nightclub on the beach with indoor/outdoor dancing. It's on West Bay Street and I believe you'd need a taxi to get there.

Club Waterloo is Nassau's largest and most famous club, says their ad. Located 1 mile east of the Paradise Island Bridge, this is taxi distance.

The Zoo Nightclub reportedly burned down but is back open again. Have no details on it except it's beyond the Hilton on W. Bay Street. Best to use a taxi.

At night, it's always best to stay in groups.

The Zoo is still closed.. (actually it's non-existent, burned to the ground), but you can add Fluid Lounge to the mix, located downtown Nassau, as well as Hammerheads Bar and lounge, Hard Rock Cafe, also downtown, the Living Room located in the Nassau Beach Hotel lower level and Dragons at the Atlantis.

Check back again before you leave.. I'm sure some of these will be closed, others open.

During the summer months, there's also outdoor music on weekends at the Fish Fry.

These ships remain overnight in Nassau:

Carnival Fascination Friday departures from Miami.

Carnival Fantasy Thursday & Sunday departures from Port Canaveral.

This ship departs Nassau at 3am so it's enough time to go out to local clubs if you're so inclined:

RCI Sovereign of the Seas Friday departures from Port Canaveral.

There are a few other ships that remain until midnight or 1am.
