MSBYRDY Posted March 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2006 Can anyone reconfirm for us that there is indeed wireless on Galaxy. I thought I read that there was, but someone just told me it didn't. Thanks for any help. Marilyn
tssace Posted March 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2006 I would be interested in answer to this question also. Thanks a lot!
JLDMED Posted March 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2006 We just got off the Galaxy, but did not use the service ourselves. A friend did, however. There are hotspots, where you can connect to the internet. You take your computer to the computer center, and they will set it all up for you. It is expensive, I've heard. ocngypz Posted March 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2006 It's terrible. Some other cruiselines do it so much better. Signal strength is weak and you often lose the satellite. after all... there is no T-1 at sea! Winds up being more expensive with their startup fee than using the internet cafe. MSBYRDY Posted March 4, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted March 4, 2006 Thanks for the responses, just needed to make sure it was available. As I said, someone told me it was, but today another said no. So much for Customer Service, they told me this evening that it wasn't on Galaxy either LOL He takes it with for business he needs to handle and have a sprint card in it that will work when Cell phones would work, but also wanted the options at sea. Appreciate the quick responses. Marilyn
Dick in Falls Church Posted March 5, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2006 I had to use it once. Yes, it was there. Yes, it was slower than my original dialup used to be. Yes, it was pricey as all get out.
