The only thing I know is that it is right across from Bayside Marketplace, which is a great spot in Miami.

Now, I don't know what you've paid, but we got the Radisson for $35.00 a night on Priceline and the hotel and the room were BEAUTIFUL!!. I paid more for dinner at Benigan's than what I paid for the hotel. A 3 star hotel on Priceline will either get you the Radisson, Sheraton Biscayne Bay or the Hyatt.

Might be worth a shot if you can cancel the Holiday Inn. I bet you're paying more than $35.00

I have stayed there several times. We choose it simply because of location. We can walk across the street for shopping, dining, music, etc. There is nothing special about the hotel, elevators are a bit slow, rooms are very nice. If you get a room in the front of the hotel above the 5th floor, you can see the port and all the ships. Don't eat at the hotel, eat across the street at one of the many restaurants in Bayside Marketplace. We ate breakfast and lunch at the Cuban restaurant, dinner at Bubba Gumps.

Like Judy, we chose the Holiday Inn Marina Park (formerly Best Western) because of location. We stayed there a couple times and it IS a great location with Bayside right across the street, American Airlines Arena (home of the Miami Heat) to the left and the port to the right as you look out of your window facing in that direction.

It's a great hotel to watch your ship come in early on the morning of embarkation. I will never forget being so excited for our first cruise that I could not sleep so I sat and watched out the window of our room there. About 5AM in came the Fascination and turned around in the basin directly across from the hotel. I ran to wake everyone up to see it.

If you stay there ask for room number 911. Its high up and is on the corner so you get an awesome view of the port, Bayside, and downtown.

BUT

We have not stayed there since we discovered Priceline.com. The Holiday Inn has never come up on any bids we've made on our numerous visits to our favorite port city. The price of the rooms on Priceline is so good that once you try it you're hooked.

You can go to www.biddingfun.com for more or ask Amber (Burbunny) if you see her online for more info but I think most everyone agrees that priceline is the way to go for hotels. THE only thing I regret is that I do miss the Holiday Inn. It's a decent hotel, I think they still give you breakfast, and its location is super.

I do like the ones that come up on priceline too though. The Hyatt, Intercontinental, Sheraton, Marriott, and Doubltree are all great hotels

Here's more on all that too:

I would have love to have stayed at the Holiday Inn, just for its location. But as Chris accurately stated, it doesn't seem to participate with Priceline and/or Hotwire.

The best price I've ever seen for the Holiday Inn was $75/night. Sorry, I'll take my $27-$37 Hyatt room through Priceline and suffer the extra 2-3 minutes it takes to get to the pier. And Bayside is only a couple of minutes away via the FREE MetroMover.

I've also stayed at the Doubletree and the Marriott, but so far the Hyatt is my favorite.

The $40-$50/night you'll save on the room will cover a few foo foo's at sailaway.

I only stay at the Holiday Inn. The reason is the same as everyone else, Location, Location, Lcation. It is easy to get food, drinks and a great view of the Port. I just stayed there 3 weeks ago and am going again in September and have already made my reservations.

Here are some links of interest. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn a couple of times prior to it's switch from the Best Western. The location is the best thing going for this hotel. The convenience of walking across the street to Bayside makes it a perfect location plus you do not have to use the Metro.

I am sure you can get some information about the Holiday Inn on the Holiday Inn website. Also, I believe the port of Miami HI has it's own website. I bet if you just did an internet search that something would come up. We stayed at the Hyatt in March 2003 which we got through Priceline for $27 per night. It was fine but I do have to be honest, I loved the location of the HI and have heard that the upper rooms are wonderful. We stayed at the HOtel Intercontinental years ago when it was a hotel with Carnival. It was cheap back then...$90 per night for 2. It was probably one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed and the view was incredible plus it was just a few steps from Bayside. Bet you'll love the HI. Enjoy!!

Don't be scared off by Priceline's babble. If you bid excessively low, they will try to "warn" you that the average price for a x* room is such-and-such dollars, and you'll have a better chance of having your bid accepted if you raise it.

Don't buy into it. Bid the $35 or whatever and be pleasantly surprised.

See if you can cancel your Holiday Inn reservation. If you can, give Priceline a shot. If you succeed, *then* cancel the other room.

I had a reservation with Holiday Inn for $89 (two double beds and pull out sofa so family of 5 could all fit) - ended up bidding on Priceline (thanks to this board) and getting the Raddison for $35...so I canceled the Holiday Inn reservation without thinking twice. I booked two Radisson rooms at $35 and still will pay less. I couldn't pass up that great price.

Great decision! While the Holiday Inn is an adequate hotel it does not really compare to the Radisson.

I must admit to being a 'location, location, convenience, person. Can you give an idea of the actual location for the alternatives to Holiday Inn? Street, near what, etc. Also, how difficult or easy is the metro?
