Drink packages on cruises out of Australia

Recommended Posts

It doesn’t matter where you are sailing from. It is all about the cost of the drinks package per day vs the amount of alcohol and other drinks you think you will drink in a day. Then calculate the costs spent with each method and pick the cheapest option

Our cruise out of Brisbane has just dropped the daily package down to AUD100 per day so that is more attractive than the original $155.  You need to figure out how many you would drink per day - on the back of an envelope I would calculate the average drink would be around $15 so if you plan on more than 6 drinks per day, it is worth it.  My husband can’t drink right now and all adult cabin occupants have to buy the package so it is not on the cards for us.  Saying that, I wouldn’t drink that many per day plus we can bring on two bottles of wine.

As a point of comparison, in Feb 2020 when I last sailed from Sydney, I paid $76AUD per day and that was the Deluxe Bev Package plus internet Surf & Stream included.

So that a big no from me on whether $100 per day, with no internet included, is worth it! 🙂
