Voyager discount for first cruise and Aurea question

My brother and wife are going to be doing their first MSC cruise. I want them to join the voyager club. They want to book the higher priced suite with the Aurea experience. Would they be able to get 5% off on the first cruise or is it only after the first cruise?
Also I will be on the same cruise with a friend but we won’t be Aurea. Can they eat with us in the main restaurant?  Or do they have to eat only in the special section for them?  If so can we join them there if we are not Aurea which I doubt. We just want to eat together. Any thoughts?

The 5% discount is after your first sailing.

They CAN eat with you in the MDR but then they lose the anytime dining (and you'd have to arrange for it once onboard with the maitre d')

You would not be able to join them in the anytime dining section

I would seriously have them reconsider what they are paying for with the Aurea experience (unless they have a whirlpool balcony cabin).  The benefits are much diminished from what they used to be.
