cal680 Posted March 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2006 Hi Fellow Cruisers, I just finished the Valor 2/06 and I am two cruises away from being Platinum. I hear all this talk about Platinum members, what does that get us? Anybody know for sure? Thanks and have a great day!

MrLee Posted March 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2006 - Escorted Tour of your fun ship I always thought this should be given on your first cruise, not your 10th.
LHP Posted March 5, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2006 I always thought this should be given on your first cruise, not your 10th. I think you are refering to the "galley" tour. I have not taken the "Platinum" tour yet (I will be taking it next week) but hopefully it will include some more behind the scenes things and not just the galley. On one ship ( I can't remember which one) they also did a "this is where everything is" kinda tour where they showed you where the different bars were, where the theaters were etc...but nothing really behind the scenes. On my first cruise (Triumph) it took me 2 days to figure out where "I" was!:p I know...it's the definately an oxymoron that just when you learn where everything is on the ship....it is time to get off. Thank goodness we were just on the Spirit (which is the same class as the Pride) .... so I will at least have a head start on this one!!!!

LHP Posted March 5, 2006 #8 Share Posted March 5, 2006 Hi all We have cruised on many CCL ships, We started back in 1986, But Stop going on CCL for a while... Now we hear about this Platinum club, Can someone let me know where you can find out about this... Thanks and happy sailing... Jim & Liz Step one is to get your '80's cruises listed on your cruise history. It seems Carnival does not have the capability to pull this info from their records, so it is up to you to provide proof for any cruises not currently listed on your cruise history. If you go the to Carnival webpage, log in, go to MY PROFILE, you will see "cruise history". Select that and see what is listed. If there are some cruises missing (which I can tell you now...there will be)...this is where the fun begins. There is a selection that allows you to "add" cruises. Do that, but be prepared (at a later time) to fax a copy of your embarkation picture and photo id to the following number: Carnival Cruise Lines IMC Specialist 1-305-406-6611 Should you not be a packrat like we are and you don't have those embarkation pictures...just post back and we will talk some more on other options. LHP Posted March 6, 2006 #10 Share Posted March 6, 2006 Hi I'm missing two cruises and I don't know if I can find those pictures. What other ideas do you have for proof? We had one (the first) from 1982 with no picture. We found the luggage tag (believe it or not) and photocopied the front and back. We also had a regular Kodak picture in front of the ship at one of the ports. They accepted this as proof. Look back through your vacation memorabilia (sp?) and photocopy anything like Kodak pictures that may have the date on them. It is really important to have the actual date you sailed on the ship...then you can "prove" it with other "stuff".
mamagina Posted March 6, 2006 #11 Share Posted March 6, 2006 Thank you. We used an embarkation pic and a luggage tag from 1986 to get a past guest discount on NCL a few years ago. I have to start looking for something from the Holiday in 1987 and the Fantasy, I think, in March 1992 or 1993 if it the Fantasy was around then. I know we went on a Carnival "BIG SHIP" for a 3 or 4 day cruise when our now 16 year old daughter was about 2 or 3 (our first trip without her--left her with grandma & grandpa for our anniversary--which by the way #21 is this Thursday!) I called Carnival yesterday and they said their computer records only go back to 1994. I tried to look at my profile on the Carnival web site and I couldn't find a "cruise history" button. Also when I tred to put my past guest number in, it told me it was associated with another user so I emailed customer service.
MrLee Posted March 6, 2006 #12 Share Posted March 6, 2006 Also when I tred to put my past guest number in, it told me it was associated with another user so I emailed customer service. I had that happen once. I had tp delete the "cookie" asspsciated with the account, then it worked fine.
