Liquor bought on board

Can anybody tell me if I was to buy a bottle of liquor or wine on board would I be able to drink it in my room.

You would be able to drink it in your cabin if they actually gave you the liquor you just purchased! Truth is, they won't give it to you - they will hold it until the end of the cruise......then you can have it to enjoy in the comfort of your own home :rolleyes: Somehow isn't the same as enjoying it on the ship......

I'd suggest doing a search....keyword "smuggle" and see cruisers creative ways of bringing booze on board...;)

I do it all the time in water or Gatorade bottles.

Up until about a year ago, you could drink it onboard, but then they changed the rules and hold it till the last day onboard. Follow the suggestipn of the last poster!

You can still order a bottle of wine to your room - however, you will pay big time for it!

Wine is not sold duty free in the shops, so of course you can enjoy what you buy on board, but yes, you'll pay through the nose for a very meager selection of average wines.

We took a bottle of Moet Champagne with us on the 2/19 Mariner cruise and had no problems getting it on the ship and we packed it in our carry one bag that went through the x-ray machine. We did not take it to the dining room, just brought it for our balcony one evening. We had enough room to put it in the frige in our room as well.
