guy+doll Posted December 11, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2022 Each of us use a CPAP and we will be cruising on the Zaandam next July for a 25 day cruise. We will be staying in an Ocean view cabin. How many plugs are located near the bed? Will we be able to keep the bed as a Queen size or should we plan to seperate them into twins in order to access any plugs? Or, how many extension cords should we bring? ShipsAreTheBest Posted December 11, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2022 Unfortunately, there are no outlets by the beds. Not even USB on Zaandam. The only outlets are at the dressing table - one 115 V outlet (North American type) and one 250 V outlet (European type). I believe the ship can provide cords (that way, they have control of quality, etc. to ensure safety). One thing that is definitely not allowed is any type of cord/power strip that has surge protection built in since they are not compatible with the the way the ship’s electrical system is grounded. Rare Scrapnana Posted December 11, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2022 Not a bad idea to tell HAL (or if you have a TA, let them do it) that you will need an extension cord for your CPAP machine so they don't run out. The one I have now is only about five or six feet (for the fridge I rented) and will not make it to the bedside tables (I am in an oceanview). If your machine does not have about a six foot cord, you might need two extensions, unless HAL has some longer ones.
