klei3354 Posted May 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Hi, I'm going on the carnival legend in July on an 8 night cruise. How many formal nights are there? I'll be wearing a tux for the formal nights, however, what are the other nights? Are all of them informal? Any suggestions on what to wear those other nights? Thank you! tef43 Posted May 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Is there a dress code for the dining room? Eleven cruises so far. Up next: Shhhh, it's a surprise! Followed by: Carnival Valor 10/30/05 CC Group And then: Carnival Spirit 12/10/05 Mexican Riviera Perhaps something else as well. Watch this space. Dance like it hurts, love like you need money, and work when somebody's watching.
rez1 Posted May 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2004 There should be 2 formal nights on an 8 day cruise. Tux, Dark suit, sport coat with tie and slacks are accepted on the formal night. The other nights are casual. Appropriate clother can be khakis with a polo shirt, resort wear, business casual. Never appropriate are shorts, beachwear, etceteras. A shirt with collars and any full length pants sounds appropriate. Sandals or shoes, but no flip flops or water shoes.
klei3354 Posted May 25, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted May 25, 2004 That's great news. So a Tux on two nights and the other nights I can wear a nice polo short sleave shirt and khakis with some dress shoes? If so that would be great. My girlfriend keeps telling me that even on the casual nights I need to wear a coat? 9/8 Carnival Legend

imatarb Posted May 25, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Trust me...if you use common sense when it comes to attire in the dining room and follow what the previous posters have said, you'll probably still be better-dressed than about 30% of the people in the dining room on any given night! We definitely notced that attire ran the spectrum on our 5/9 sailing of the Victory. pnjkeith Posted May 26, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2004 Remember you paid for the cruise. Wear what you want, a lot of people wear jeans and t-shirts. 1979 Carnival Mardi Gras 2000 Carnival Tropicale 2001 Carnival Paradise 2002 Carnival Spirit 2004 Carnival Elation 11/21/2004 CARNIVAL CONQUEST
hstrybuf Posted May 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 26, 2004 NO! No jeans and tee shirts! Actually, Carnival outlines the dress code as posted in the link above.
