Markanddonna Posted December 25, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 25, 2022 I have been on two cruises with Israel's ports as a destination and I don't recall the ship offering shuttles into any town. Ship excursions, but not shuttles. Someone said it is part of Israeli law that ships must provide shuttles to the town areas they dock in. What is the real story? Rare John Bull Posted December 26, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2022 The port in Haifa is close to the city centre & rail station and the cruise berths are close to the port gate, there's no need for shuttles. Unless things have changed, in Ashdod passengers must leave (or enter) the port in tour buses or a free port shuttle to (from) the port gate where there are taxis. I'm not aware of any shuttles into town, or any regulation which requires them. And other than perhaps to the train station I doubt many people would want them - folk want to go to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Herod's fortress, the Dead Sea etc. JB 🙂
