pittnh Posted January 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2023 I was looking into redeeming points (Bank of America) for onboard credits and they list two options, shared vs. individual. Why the difference if I'm on a cruise and sharing a room with my wife? Also my credit card billing period ends about a week prior to my cruise. Is that enough time for the points to be transferred to my onboard credit?

Those are always standard options - shared or individual. I assume in case the BoA holder wants the OBC just for one account (to use in casino as many do) or could be sharing cabin with a friend or simply using separate onboard accounts tied to different payment methods. It's not a big deal so select your desired preference. I would think the points need to be reflected in your account the day you're requesting the OBC. Sometimes it may take a week for the transactional OBC to appear in your RC onboard account. Call BoA Rewards Dept at 888-305-4626 for assistance as they can see your pending transactions. Good luck! 2

That's shared vs. individual. I think you're cutting it close with the week. You can always pay your bill earlier if that's the issue. It should be enough time, but it's best to avoid unnecessary stress.
BillsMafiaBabe Posted January 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2023 Thank you for asking - I forgot that I had points I could redeem. I redeemed points today for a 1/22 sailing - I can come back and let you know when I actually see the funds post to my OBC, if its helpful. However that being said the site says you need to redeem at least 1 week before sailing. I don't know if I would risk it.
Jbluebird Posted January 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2023 This may be a silly question, but are the BOA rewards points you're using for your cruise on a Royal Caribbean BOA card or a "regular" BOA card?
