I finally got out and got my 2 dresses for my formal nights. Here they are...

For the first formal night...

(I don't know how to post a pic, so I'll post the link)

And for the second night...

And here are the shoes I got for both...

First question, what type of jewelery would you wear? Silver, of course. But would you go for fake diamonds (I can't afford real) or just large silver pieces?

Second, what type of shawl would you use? I remember seeing alot of shawls in airport gift shops. They came in several colors and were a nice weight. Or should I get a thinner material?

Your dresses look fab!

I would get either a white shawl to go with the black and white dress and a silver one to go with the second one, or a black shawl to go with both.

I don't think the thickness/weight really matters, although i find ones with beads on the fringe stay better put with the weight. It's best to try a few in the stores with a strappy top on or something similar and see how they look and feel.

I have Mootsie Tootsie evening sandals too in black, they are so comfy! :D

I'm not very good with jewelry, I'm afraid :o

Best thing about those dresses were the price! (I spent more on the shoes than both the dresses)

The black/silver dress was from a consignment store for $18.00!

The black/white stripe dress was from the Goodwill for $4.98!!

Both are in great condition and fit well. I do need to get them to the dry cleaners though.

I agree, the Mootsies felt great! I had it down to 2 styles, and had to take these because they don't make my feet hurt!

I think that large silver jewelry will overpower, rather than complement, the dresses. I would stay with smaller and sparkly.

Perhaps some chandelier earrings with crystal accents? And I would wear a necklace that was fairly simple with the second dress and try on a few different options with the first as I think it can handle more drama.

Great buys by the way! Enjoy.

I love the black and white one!

Black chiffon shawls.

B&W dress..... sparkly choker with a drop earring.

Second dress... no necklace... but stronger statement earrings.. with more of a drop.
