nortonbd Posted January 18, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2023 Hello, Taking our nephew with us on his first cruise, he is 13 years old. He has his birth certificate. Carnival recommends we bring a signed letter from both of his parents. Do we need to have any other documentation? We cruise in 80 days. Thanks for you help! fbe2228 Posted January 18, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2023 We took our minor niece with us on a Caribbean cruise. This is the letter that we had signed and notarized by both parents. We had her passport and a copy of her birth certificate with us. We used her passport to get on the ship and when we went through Immigration upon our return. Nobody asked for anything else. We did, however take a copy of passport, birth certificate and the two letters with us off the ship in port just in case. It was probably overkill, but we wanted to be prepared for any emergency. Hope this helps!! nybumpkin Posted January 18, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2023 We did the same as fbe2228 when we brought our nephew on a cruise - letter from parents (others will tell you it's not needed, but we were asked for it - better safe than sorry), together with BC (he didn't have a passport) and his photo ID. If nephew has a school photo ID, that would work for ID.
