I&MsMom Posted March 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2006 We've cruised before on Carnival, and I am now considering the Dawn or Crown out of NYC this August. My question is: do you have to sign up for specific times for port days the day prior? For example: 2 kids from 4 - 5. Or 1 child 3:30 - 5. Sometimes, on returning to the ship, my kids have wanted to go to Camp. I have sometimes let them go for an hour or so. But we've always played it by ear, depending on what they wanted to do and how tired they were from our day ashore. If we're at the beach and the weather is great, we stay on shore longer than we would if the weather was less stellar...If we get a day with really not so great weather that interferes with our shore plans, I'd like them to spend some time in Camp, but that's not something you can accurately predict in advance. Those kinds of variables are what I'm concerned about. So many families speak so highly of NCL, I'm sure they have a way of addressing this...Any info. on how NCL handles this would be very much appreciated! Thanks and happy sailing! We had to sign up in advance and there was a fee, I believe $5 per hour. If there were not enough children interested in attending then there was no camp held during the port.
