MD320 Posted March 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2006 For a formal night aboard the Carnival Celebration, would you recommend that a male wear a business suit? Or simply khakis with a shirt, tie, and jacket?
Happy ks Posted March 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2006 A dark suit is more appropriate, formal is evening wear. The khaki pants you describe would be perfect for casual nights :) ! No jacket is required for casual nights. All that said, he would not be keel-hauled for wearing the sportscoat on formal night. I have my husband coordinate with me, what I'm wearing. If I'm wearing an evening dress, we would clash if he was in a sportscoat.
Nebr.cruiser Posted March 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2006 I agree, a dark suit would look much better on formal night. Next best would be a sport coat and tie with dark pants. Khakis are just too casual for formal night, though I doubt if they'd kick him out!

I love a navy sportcoat with charcoal grey slacks myself. Go somewhere like Marshalls-you will be able to find him a pair for under $30 I am almost sure. He would look just as good in that as a suit and if he already has a navy sportcoat you can save some money.
Keksie Posted March 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2006 When we cruised on the Conquest in February the majority of men wore either tuxes or dark suits for formal night. The Celebration might be different however.

Browneyedhunni85 Posted March 11, 2006 #7 Share Posted March 11, 2006 We will be on the Celebration in August and my boyfriend is wearing his military dress suit for formal night. Good luck deciding on something!
