RobinKS Posted February 2, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2023 I'm trying to decide on the transportation options between Anchorage and the Seward cruise port. Does anyone know when boarding starts on Radiance of the Seas?
Kathscof Posted February 2, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2023 Last year with an 8pm departure time, boarding times to sign up for started at noon. This year, we may not know when that will be until checkin opens up before the first Seward departing cruise. Book the train and you will be there at 11:30, just in time to get on the ship or explore the town (thought there may be plenty of people on the same train doing the same things causing a long line to get on). The train is the most fun way to get to Seward for sure 🙂
don't-use-real-name Posted February 2, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2023 The Cruise Terminal at Seward is rather sparse - no real room for holding pens/waiting areas. In most cases - esp NCL - check in and board almost right away OR feel free to just roam about Seward. The scheduled AK RR Coastal Classic arrives timely for both options. In most cases your Checked Stateroom luggage is handled separately and will be found at your cabin door in the afternoon - only have your carry-on to tote with you. The Chartered NCL train arrives about 5 pm and does not allow as much free walk-about Seward time. The two trains can accommodate about half the ships guest capacity - - - The rest of the guests arrive by other means or have arrived a day or two in advance of sailing.
