cricket Posted May 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Has Peanut or anyone else placed a log book on the Carnival Miracle? I noticed in the topic under CC logs that Peanut might have done it in April, but have not read that she or anyone else actually did. If it hasn't been done, I would like to offer to on my September sailing.

Peanuts Posted May 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Tried several times on our cruise but was unable to put it in the library. The CC employee who runs the library would only unlock cabinets if you wanted a book, otherwise the cabinets were locked. Even checked with the "Hotel Director" and was told no. I think part of the reason for the locked cabinets was it was the first cruise (other than the 3 day for the CCL big wigs) and I think a lot of employees weren't too sure about what to do. I posted when I came back that someone should try again maybe they would have better luck. Any takers?? cricket Posted May 27, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Peanuts.....That was nice of you to buy the book and try several times to get the book in to the library. It was such a shame that it didn't work out. I don't know if it would make any difference if someone else would try, but it is worth doing so. I will bring a log book with me and see what happens. If anyone else wants to try before my sailing please let us know!
Ma Ma H Posted May 28, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2004 Hi, I will be sailing on the Miracle June 7th and would be more than happy to try to get a log book started....Now for a stupid question......What type of book would I need??? I have sailed before with several of the crew that will be aboard so perhaps I might have some luck.... cricket Posted May 28, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted May 28, 2004 MaMa H.....You may be the answer! To know crew members is a plus, so PLEASE try to get us all a log book for the Miracle! I would imagine any log book that has sections for names, where we have traveled from, and date we cruised would be sufficient. If there is a section also for comments would even be better. If the log book is specific, like it has titiles above the rows, and they are not what we need, then just change the titles with permanent marker to what you need. A hard back cover is preferable, since it would last longer than a soft cover . Please let us know if you were successful! If you weren't, I can't imagine anyone else being able to do so. Let's cross our fingers! Thanks so much for Peanuts and your effort!
Ma Ma H Posted May 28, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 28, 2004 OK folks, I will pick up the book next week....Hopefully I will have success in having it placed in the library, under lock & key, for future cruise critics. pmc7704 Posted June 7, 2004 #13 Share Posted June 7, 2004 I just got back from the Pride, and the log book was left out on a desk for all to find. This was thanks to cruise director, Greg Kneale, who monitors this board, and knew about the log books. Maybe you could get the cruise director on the Miracle to intercede to help, like Greg did. Heck, tell him to gve Greg a call about it !!! Ma Ma H Posted June 12, 2004 #14 Share Posted June 12, 2004 Hi Folks, Just back from a fantastic trip to Canada aboard the beautiful new Miracle...The log book is now in the library for all to sign. I did not have any problem with the Raven Library staff. They were more than happy to keep it for future CCB members to sign. Yesterday I checked the book and no one had signed it.......Hopefully future cruisers will take the time to do so. Embarkation went very smoothly, we arrived at the port at 4:15 PM and was on board the ship before 5PM. Luggage arrived by 5:30 PM. It was the quickest we ever got our luggage. Dinner was at 6 and we set sail at 10. The lights of New York & New Jersey were beautiful. The trip was great and the weather fantastic. Docked in New York at 7AM this morning and was off the ship by 10:15 ...no problem getting to the limo... back home in Rockland by 11:30... Now counting the days till the next cruise.... Ma Ma H Posted June 13, 2004 #18 Share Posted June 13, 2004 Sorry, my e-mail used to be available under my profile but somehow its not there now. We are from North Rockland and for many years I have been using Air Brook Limousine. They are very reliable & courteous. On one trip with my daughter & her family she booked another Company because it was cheaper....well the driver must have been out all night drinking. The trip to Newark was a nightmare, Thank God my son-in law was with us since the driver got lost and had us going around in circles....my son-in law had to guide him to the airport....I often wonder how the driver got back to Rockland... The number for Air Brook is 1-800-992-4799. Have a wonderful cruise........... WMeda Posted June 13, 2004 #19 Share Posted June 13, 2004 Ma Ma H, Thqanks for the info. I've used Air Brook before and was very happy until the time they left me stranded at my home on a scheduled pick up to JFK. I was forced to drive myself and I amde my plane with 5 minutes to spare. But, i guess I can try them again. How much did they chrge from Rokcland to the pier and back? How did they work the pick up from the pier? did they make you call them when you got off the boat or were they waiting in a certain place? Thanks. lilkrz Posted June 14, 2004 #20 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Hello MaMaH, I went to the Library on Thursday evening and opened all the cabinets with the books but did not see any CC Log book. Where exactly was it? We certainly had great weather and the sea was perfectly calm. I thought Todd & his group did a great job considering this was Todd's first trip to Canada and Tex & Karl had just starting working with Todd. You might have thought these guys had been working together for months and not just weeks. I had a chance to talk to Tex and I commented that I thought Todd would be in the caliber of Corey Schmidt. Like Corey Todd was involued in most of the activities and seemed to really love what he did. I will miss Corey but had the pleasure of crusing with Todd. Does anyone know how long Todd has been with Carnival? Did you see the routine they did at the end of the talent show. I hope Todd was all right after that fall or do you think that was staged. Has anyone else seen them do this routine and does he fall each time?
Ma Ma H Posted June 14, 2004 #21 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Hi lilkrz, The log book is in the cabinet nearest the door. When I checked on Friday afternoon there was a stack of papers on top of the book. The gal in charge told me she would be sure it was visible in the future. The book is green and measures about 12 inches by 7 inches. On the front it says Carnival Miracle Log Book. Sorry you did not get to sign it. Hopefully as the weeks go by CCB members will read about it and sign it............. As for the show I don,t think Todd expected that fall. The expression on his faced gave me the impression it was an accident. There was a lot of water on the stage which made it very slippery. Saw Todd as we were getting off the ship and he appeared to be ok...... MoonBaby Posted July 10, 2004 #23 Share Posted July 10, 2004 DH and I were on the Miracle on the June 12th sailing. We found the CC log book in the library, in the first case on the right. The hardest part was getting there during the very limited library hours when an attendant could unlock the case for us! We did manage though, and we made an entry. We were only the second entry! Hopefully more CCers will sign in the future!
WMeda Posted July 10, 2004 #24 Share Posted July 10, 2004 Just got off of The Miracle this morning. We found the log bnook exactly where the previous posters said it would be (in the righ-most cabinet middle shelf). We had a great time, the ship is beautiful, the service is wonderful and it's flat out hard not to have a good time. Wayne
