We had a medical evac.  We had already passed Cancun, but had to turn around and meet the coast guard 15 miles off of Cancun.  We lost about 2.5-3 hours of time doing that.  Combine that along with the fact that due to propulsion issues, the Vista cannot sail at full speed …this we were late.  We barely made our flight out of IAH by 2 minutes, and we had a 2:30pm departure

We get a spa room when ever we can.  We were on the spa balcony on deck 12.  We like it as the floor

doesn't seem to have the extra noise in the halls etc.  Plus the location helps to be closer to the areas

which are important to us.

If you have a chance for a spa room, any of them, go for it.

Bassmaster, Did you have to skip any ports due to the propulsion issues?

Why are folks assuming that there are still propulsion issues with the Vista,  The normal cruising speed, per the Vista Fact Sheet from the Carnival web site indicates it is 18 knots.

imacruiser99, because people on this board have either missed ports / been rescheduled to different ports or left early from ports due to issues.  Asking doesn't seem that far fetched.

  • 3 weeks later...

We stayed in a spa balcony on the 14th deck several years ago.

The only real issue was that there are only two elevators that serve that portion of the front of the ship and one of them was not working for much of the cruise.

We just walked down the stairs to deck 12, there were full banks of elevators there.
