luv2cruise51 Posted March 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2023 (edited) Can someone please explain how and/or when the Seabourn Club 5% discount works? We have a cruise booked for November 2024 that we booked on 2/18/23 which included the Suite Life Event and what I thought was the Club 5% discount. We thought we would get the discount just for being a Club member with ID numbers, etc. This will be our 4th Seabourn Cruise since 2010. Our last cruise was just before Covid in November 2019 and we did not take advantage of any FCD at that time. I have seen some reference to FCD with regard to the 5% discount. We do not have one of those that I'm aware of. My TA has not responded since Wednesday when I sent him an email asking about this so I thought I'd try to post this questions here. Thank you for any info. Kathy Edited March 4, 2023 by luv2cruise51

This is viable for 4 years and means when you book a future cruise you can use this and automatically get a 5% discount. I am assuming this is the "Club Member" discount as you can only book it onboard when you automatically become a Club Member. I could be wrong though. Sometimes this discount isn't applied if the Sale discount is already large, for example someone on here recently couldn't use it because they were getting 35% discount on a cruise. Mr Luxury Posted March 4, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2023 This looks like an additional 5% discount if you are already a past Seabourn sailor which you are. I would ask your TA if he ever replies to contact Seabourn and get it sorted.
Flamin_June Posted March 4, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 4, 2023 Yup. Mr L is correct. As well as the booked on board FDC 5% discount, Seabourn also offer, on 'selected' sailings, a 5% discount for Seabourn Club members. That should be 5% off whatever price your TA is quoting, irrespective of any TA discount. Maybe you should find another TA?
luv2cruise51 Posted March 4, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted March 4, 2023 Yes, Flamin_June, I have been seriously thinking of going on the hunt for a new TA. He's been ok for most of the 5 years but I think that's because I usually know exactly what I want in a cruise and have usually always already picked out a cruise when I contact him. His paragraphs are usually one line long. I have been told that this time of the year is very busy for the travel industry. It's only been 3 days today since my last email to him asking about this. Thank you both for your info. I do appreciate it. Kathy
Mr Luxury Posted March 4, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 4, 2023 That's not acceptable to wait that long for a reply. When choosing a TA make sure that they know the luxury sector and ask them if they have been on any of the Seabourn ships.it makes such a difference if the TA knows the product that they are selling. My TA has intimate knowledge of the luxury sector,in fact he has joined Silversea Endeavour today. Happy sailing
