Bermuda Longtail Posted March 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2006 Has any store replaced the now closed Triminghams or is it just one big empty building ? Thanks in advance for any information :). Nothing has gone into the two buildings that were Trimingham's/Smiths. The Trimingham's building was bought by HSBC Bank of Bermuda and they have applied for permission to put a seven story building on the lot. Permission has not been given yet. They do have nice island themed displays in the windows so it doesn't look too bad.
cruiserssandr Posted March 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2006 We will be in Bermuda on a cruise at the end of May. This will be our 13th time in Bermuda and it will be so said not to be able to shop at Triminghams. Is A.S. Coopers still open? We were in Bermuda in Oct 05 and still can't wait to be there again. A.S. Coopers are building a new building on Front Street therefore they have split the different departments into smaller shops all around Hamilton. Travel'n Man Posted March 25, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2006 We were at the "Going out of Business Sale" last June. When we went back in October the store was gone nothing but an empty shell. All of the displays torn down and the fixtures ripped out. A real shame. All of the employees out of work, they were so nice to us in June. Some of the people had been with the store for over 30 years. We are going back in May, it will never quite be the same without Trimminghams.
