Lirio we certainly didn't see anyone swimming. It is a National Park and fishing isn't allowed but I don't know about swimming. No time if you are on a cruise tour but You certainly can swim further down the river though.

Now in a picnic area with several food and drink outlets.

That night it was our one night in La Dame. The decorations and set up.

DSC00028.JPG.33f7057472197a2b430dfed9101d89c4.JPG

DSC00029.JPG.7dd114de3fc70d5e687df3d5406e8d6a.JPG

So start with a champagne. Monopole complimentary or upgrade to Krug at $US45 a glass. A little try also to get you to go for the wine pairing. The set menu can only be done with the pairing.

They then bring an amusee bouche. crabmeat and watermelon. This is often on the Atlantide menu but there the crab meat is on top of the watermelon.

For wines we went for the complimentary offers. Absolutely pointless Rojaan having the wine pairing. She was in luck as the white was Tiki. This was the red for the night.

DSC00038.JPG.d31294c16ff1890afcd0a5dcbf59d405.JPG

For starter Rojaan had the lobster salad. Nore lobster than the Atlantide version the only difference.

DSC00036.JPG.07b682d955bc5a3ac0f4cd8e669770e8.JPG

I wanted to have dishes not on other menus so had the snails then the souffle entree.

DSC00037.JPG.4e93712ebc14193b5709b0ecac07dcca.JPG

DSC00039.JPG.ca3d1cb4bfcd0f679431011d57976c94.JPG

A lemon sorbet was then served.

DSC00040.JPG.ab1641eef517af6a5583b08edbec0cbd.JPG

For mains we both had the fillet. Rojaan well done whilst mine was rare, maybe bleu.

DSC00041.JPG.d7db5149ffbc19c0f30109a4de136936.JPG

DSC00042.JPG.4da5987036c37cc4da713b2bfa8c195f.JPG

For desserts Rojaan had the crepe and I the souffle.

DSC00043.JPG.345e63ccce056a2328befce4c451a8de.JPG

DSC00044.JPG.d1906f1b30b2eb4e5e271d64ade896d1.JPG

Then petit sixes even though we don't drink coffee in the evening.

DSC00045.JPG.a93d9046ff8272c024520759110b65c6.JPG

Was it worth it? Well the food is better than the othere restaurants but not enough to warrant the extra cost. On the Moon and Dawn it is now too large and no real special atmosphere.

We had a great young guide who obviously wanted to promote Croatia. His brother is a Minister in the Croatian Government in charge of tourism investments. The family own the cafe seen in this and previous posts. So unlike the other groups there was an easy access to restrooms.

As well it was a Sunday so there were services at all the churches. However our guide had a chat with the priest of his church and we were allowed a quick look.

He then took us down the street to his families home and told us it's history as far as it's known. Thought to have been built for a prominent Venetian family but now subdivided.

So in the main square there were not only Roman ruins and churches but that day an International Charity run day. So the old town was really crowded. Talking to other groups their guide used this as an excuse to cut short the tour saying there were road closures plus the promenade was being used for the run. Not our guide there was a lot more that he wanted to show us. Besides it was still 3 hours until the run started.

Together with this

They form a wonderful msound and light show with all the energy from nature. see here-

The music was beautiful but unfortunately you would have to wait until sunset for the light show.n If you want to hear and see the show there are plenty of uploads to You Tube.

Back to he walk.
