Is the Royal Yacht Britannia tied up within walking distance to were we tender at?

Definitely not. They’re about 11 miles apart.

 

You will need a cab, or if you’re feeling adventurous you can do it by city bus, with a transfer in central Edinburgh.

Where do you tender to? (or alternatively what's your ship & date?)

If you tender to Newhaven Harbour, it's a flat walk of just under a mile, or one of several city buses (£2.00 fare or £5.00 for a DAYticket).

If South Queensferry, then you need to get into Edinburgh on an X99 Cruiselink bus, and then to Leith Docks where Britannia is moored (taxi or bus for this leg).

Thanks. The itinerary just says tender South Queensbury. This cruise is not until Aug 2024 on the Rotterdam.

My mistake - I read the post but not the title!
 

As @gumshoe958 said, a taxi (if one is available) would be the fastest or the X99 bus (really easy) and then probably a taxi to Britannia from the city centre rather than slower public transport.

Is there a problem getting a cab to and from the port to Edinburgh?

If there’s a cruise ship in you can guarantee the cab drivers will be there. Having said that demand may exceed supply so there may be a line. You could prebook one, or try Uber.
