While on a cruise

Has anyone ever arranged to have a remodeling project done at their home while they were on a cruise, so they didn't have to live through the inconvenience and mess of having the work done?

Absolutely not...things go wrong when you're home...can you imagine an absentee owner arriving back home to find the wrong color paint, the wrong appliances, the wrong grantite, etc...

Whoops...I spelled "granite" wrong...I got so flustered at the thought of someone working in my home...and being on vacation! That will never happen...

I would also be reluctant to have a major remodeling job done while I was on vacation, but a few of my friends have without any problems.

 

However, I would consider it for a routine job that is very messy, such as refinishing hardwood floors. There isn't much that can go wrong with that type of project, especially if you have used the same company previously for another part of the house.
