Port to Istanbul Airport

We are on Azamara Quest 28 May Athens to Istanbul.

Looks like Istanbul has a new port - anyone have tips or advice about the new Galataport and suggestions for private transfer to Istanbul airport?

There are two airports in Istanbul - Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen Flughafen (SAW).

We also thought about booking this cruise so I found out the best way whould be a taxi. There are a lot of taxis in Istanbul.

We arrived at the new port last June. We had an evening flight, so we booked a private day tour and included transportation to the airport. We used Istanbulite.com. They were great to work with.

We arrived in Galataport last year after departing from the same. On arrival back I had pre booked a taxi to take us to the airport, which is a good hour away, but after waiting for a considerable time decided to ask the taxi’s waiting outside the arrivals, on the underground road, the price to the airport and it was actually less than the pre booked shared ride I had booked. The taxi price was about $55, very reasonable for the distance and plenty of them.
