Would love to do this but unfortunately we only have about 10 days total.  We still have kids at home and a relative that's only willing to babysit for a certain amount of time.

What about RC Symphony of the Seas out of Barcelona on October 15th?  We could get a balcony room (cruise picks our room) for $2373 for the two of us and direct flights from Boston are currently $1150 for two.  Ports are Palma de Mallorca, Provence, Florence, Rome, Naples and one day at sea. Any thoughts on that itinerary or the ship?

We are doing this cruise October 5th from Rome for our 20th. I only found out after I booked it that it is originally out of Barcelona but for some reason starting in Rome was an option. (Which was really great for me because it leaves and comes back on Thursday so I can fly home after and be back to work on Saturday  and not have to find someone to cover my weekend. )

It's actually a direct flight from Boston on Iberia.  Of course baggage fees are an additional cost.

Direct or non-stop?  If non-stop, that's a great price.

Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas

7-night Mediterranean $857 per person for inside cabin round trip Venice (Ravenna, Italy) port stops in Venice, Italy | Kotor, Montenegro | Corfu, Greece | Piraeus (Athens), Greece | Mykonos, Greece | Argostoli, Kephalonia

Explorer is an older ship, recently refurbished beautiful classic, tons to do on board, terrific Greek Isles itinerary with the beautiful fjords of Kotor, Montenegro as well.

Celebrity Cruise Line - Edge

7-night Mediterranean Western - $1,249 per person inside cabin Barcelona to Rome with stops in  Valencia, Spain | Ibiza, Spain | Portofino, Italy | Ajaccio, Corsica, France | La Spezia (Cinque Terre), Italy | Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy

A bit of a splurge but, Edge class ships are truly stunning. Gorgeous interiors, plenty of innovative, delicious specialty restaurants, great lounges, high tech modern ship a real knockout.
