I understand that it will cost $48 for a week; is there Miami tax added if you purchase while still in port there?

We bought ours while still in Miami port for a seven-night cruise. We purchased two child stickers ($56.00) and one adult sticker ($42.00). A 15 percent gratuity was added ($14.70) and $6.86 tax was also added, for a grand total of $119.56. I have read on this board that, if you purchase the soda sticker once you're at sea, you don't pay the tax.
