Executive Collection Excursions

Hi, 

Has anyone used the Executive Collection option to book excursions.I’m curious as to how it worked and price point.

 

Our cruise goes to Heraklion ( Crete).

Ive done Crete on a land based trip so was hoping this time to go to the leper colony .

Access is via Plaka ( Agios Nikolaos) which is about 50 minutes away from Heraklion.

It will be much less expensive to do a bit of research and set up a private excursion doing what you want to do.  Unless you have tons of shipboard credits you are basically paying big bucks for a middleman (Oceania) to set it up for you.

Over 10 years ago we went to the leper colony (Spinalonga) ourselves. There were local companies offering the relatively short boat ride to the island. No reservations necessary. But we docked at Agios Nikolas, so it was right there. I read a book about the island before the cruise; I'm sorry I don't recall the name, but it made the stop more interesting. Well worth seeing.

Don’t know about the book but this BBC mini series was extremely popular and many people went to visit Crete after watching it.
