PACURN Posted March 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Try the Hampton Inn on Stirling Rd. It provides transportation to the crusie port and from the airport. Not a 4 star hotel but it's doable. It has a continental breackfast in the morning also. There is a main street right behind the hotel and if you walk to it and turn left and walk down past the K Mart there is a fun dinner. I think it was called Moonlight. You can't miss it because it's all lit up in neon. We enjoyed it.

I have tried to get what dates they are sailing and I don't think they are out yet! I'm heading up a group and have to get this all together, then they will decide. I like the looks of this cruise. Did you enjoy it? What did you like best about it? Mrdood, thanks for the site on it. I can get a couple of ideas from it. DEB
PACURN Posted March 16, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Debbie, I loved this cruise for a couple of reasons. I choose it because I loved the itinerary and the fact that it left on my birthday, Dec 10th. After that I meet a bunch of people on the roll call and had a wonderful time with them. Antigua is my all time favourite port. It's so pretty there. We did an Island tour with Lawrence of Antigua. It was really nice. Puerto Rico was nice in the evening. If you want to see pic's I can send you a link.

I don't think dates will be posted but if you call Carnival they can give you dates that are furter out. I booked the Hawaii cruise last June for this Oct. They have info that is not on the website. waterrats Posted March 16, 2006 #8 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Anywhere on 17th St. For the inexpensive, everyone recommends the Amerisuites. This is right behind the Embassy Suites and looks good. Super market within walking distance. It is close to the airport and also the port. About $10 to $15 each taxi ride.
deborah grimes Posted March 16, 2006 Author #9 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Debbie, I would love to see some pic's! My Email add: travelnut43@bellsouth.net thanks, I have been to San Juan and St. Thomas and Nassau, I have never been to Antigua or Tortola. I loved St. Thomas, Is Antigua better? If so, I can't wait! You have sold me, now to sell my group! Thanks again, DEB

waterrats Posted March 16, 2006 #11 Share Posted March 16, 2006 If you luck out on Priceline, I have seen people getting the Amerisuites for about $40 a night depending on the time of year.
CruisinFinsUp Posted March 16, 2006 #12 Share Posted March 16, 2006 FLL port has a huge parking garage right by the ships. You should consider parking there for convenience - drive your own stuff right up to the port and not pay taxi charge + tip. We did it in 2001 and it was GREAT. Aquarian Posted March 16, 2006 #13 Share Posted March 16, 2006 We have never done a pre-day before and are staying at the Renaissance on 17th. If anyone has stayed there previously, did you like it? Also, what is there to do close by and how about good restaurants nearby. Thanks so much.
