Viking Jupiter - power blackout

Just as we were pulling in to Akureyi the vessel suffered a complete power loss, and we are stationary in the water a short distance from the port. Electricity was off intermittently for around 25 minutes, but seems back now - we still have no water.

The Captain assured us it’s nothing to worry about, and if need be we’ll just drop anchor where we are.

 

A “code alpha” (medical emergency) was called on ship wide tannoy for The World Cafe, port side.

Water and power fully restored, and we will be tendering ashore. I have to think there will be some with early excursions that have to skip breakfast?

I'm kidding of course and poking fun at a previous event that I'm sure wasn't fun while it happened.

There's plenty of cold food already out and ready to eat they they will have to get rid of if it isn't consumed. I'm sure no one went out hungry, even if it wasn't what they were planning on eating.
