Rail trail

Anyone taken the rail trail bike excursion or walked the rail trail?

Also interested in a reply.  I'm trying to do this in November, but failed in trying to get a tour operator.  I suppose I could just rent a bike and do it myself...

We decided to walk it...we are planning to take bus or taxi to fort scaur part  and walk the trail near there.    This keeps our options free if it's raining etc.....as we won't be committed to the shore excursion that royal offers....
