Comfort Inn in FLL

Must be the time of year but finding hotel prices to be crazy in March.  Has anyone used the Comfort Inn Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port on N. Federal Hwy, Dania Beach.  Am wondering about location and whether it is safe there.  I have read that some parts of Dania Beach is questionable.  Any input provided will be very much appreciated.  Thanks!

I booked a room there for the night before our cruise in early Dec.  Haven't ever been there, so I can't help you with neighborhood.  I booked it because a good brewery (3 Sons Brewery) is next door with good brews and food.  We're beer fans so this will be a chance to have some quality ones prior to the standard ho-hum fare available on the ship.  Also, a short ride from the airport and to the ship.

I have been in the area and it was decent looking  The Dania casino is very close and areas around casinos tend to be well patrolled.
