can you get military discount and past guest discount?

I'm going to answer my own question here, but want to leave the post incase anyone has any other input. I just talked to my favorite PVP and he said that if you are eligible for military, past guest or senior discount you must choose the one you want to apply. Weird.

I have no idea how anyone, not even God could get both discounts for you. It is either/or. If indeed your TA got you both I would like to know the secret. I have only seen one exception and it was not a really double dipping situation: I have a client right now that is elegible for a past passenger upgrade (another cruise line) and has a $200 certificate due to a problem she encountered. That isn't quite the same thing. I was able to use both, but even then had a bit of a hassle. NMnita

It would seem that the military discount is the best if you qualify! I am not a senior yet so I can't tell if that would be better!

My Husband qualified for military, senior & past cruiser - military was the best.

On my last cruise, the past pax rate became lower than the MIL rate. My TA called and asked if we wanted to switch. It was worth $60 to switch. Not much but it covered my budget for the casino for one night.

I booked a cruise for my husband and I, as well as my parents. My dad just retired from the Army, and they gave him a discount based on his rank.(They may have just said that to get us to book) They are also past guests...but the military discount was better, for the balcony that they wanted. We were also told that you cannot get both discounts. I am sure the TA lied to make themselves look more helpful.
