Shore Excursions Available on ship?

We are on the Anthem transatlantic in October - and many of the shore excursions on the website have been sold out since February (which I find hard to believe!).  We haven't done a Royal cruise before - is this the norm?  Should we expect to see more excursions become available once we are on the ship?

We are also on the Anthem in October.  The shore excursions on TA’s tend to sell out quickly.  We purchased ours last year.  I hope that you are able to book some, hopefully there will be some cancellations.  I would make sure to watch everyday.

They will not open up shore excursions on board.  It's best to book before the cruise because availability is greater.  You can email the shore excursions office at shoreex@rccl.com to ask about availability and getting on a waitlist.
