The shuttle from the ship to train station was new this year so that is causing some confusion.

Since you're already making this trip to BOARD the ship, the return trip will be more apparent.  And keep in mind that Civi station isn't huge. Scope it out when you arrive so that you're more comfortable with the layout for the next trip. Maybe ask the ticket counter person what platform is typically used for the 9:16 train to Termini.

Trenitalia is assuming you want the 8:50 shuttle to catch the 9:16 train to Termini; which only leaves you 11 minutes to find and get to the platform. If that makes you nervous catch the 8:20 shuttle instead.  The driver just wants to see that you've paid for the shuttle; they don't care about the time. There is only one line for the shuttle.

They were running a station bus in Dec 2021 when we disembarked.
