Parking at Pier in New York

Has anyone parked their car at the pier in New York?

I've never actually done it, but did a lot of research because we had planned on it before a friend was kind enough to drive us down and pick us up. Anything special you want to know?

Is it safe? Will the car be untouched?

We parked at the pier two years ago and plan to do so again this year. We had no problems. You park on top of the pier itself. Do be sure to drop off your luggage with a porter before going to the parking lot - it's difficult to carry your luggage down from the lot to the porters.

Done it many times. Cheaper than a limo, and I can come and go when I want.

 

There's an art to it as well. It is well guarded.;)
