ljrfrm Posted June 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2004 1. I've seen both $1 per bag and $2 per bag tipping for the porters at the pier....what's the norm? 2. Cashing travelers checks on board - Do they ever run out of money towards the end of the cruise - and is there a limit per day? Do they have small bills? 3. Camp Carnival tipping - Do they share the tips? How much have most people tipped? Do I need to give cash or can I put it on S&S - stating where I want it to go? I'm sure I'll have more questions before I go - thanks for your help. Paradise 6/
teedee Posted June 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2004 1. I usually give $2 a bag unless it's oversized or really heavy and then I will give a little more 2. Never had a problem with them running out of cash for travelers checks 3. Sorry - can't help with this one, never used Camp Carnival. HOSKI Posted June 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2004 I do $1 per bag. They will have cash at pursers desk but mac machines do run out. Tip camp at the end of cruise. It is not included in any of the auto tipping. imsulin Posted June 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2004 If you want small bills, cash your TCs at the casino, instead of the Purser's Desk, where you will most likely get larger bills. The ATM machine in the casino runs out of cash about the second day of the cruise, and is not re-filled. We always tipped $2.00 per bag at the pier. I've never used Camp Carnival, either, so can't help you there. Have a good cruise!
ljrfrm Posted June 9, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Thanks for the help! I was thinking $2 per bag....none are too oversized. Also, casino is a good idea....as I think I would want small bills for tips, etc. You guys are a great source of information!
