AT&T international or cruise package on MSC?

Hey MSC experts!! We need to keep the ability to talk, and text on our cell phones on the cruise ship and in port. AT&T has both a cruise package and international package that can be added- do we need both? Or will just the international package work? We have the internet package on ship and a travel router. Thanks!!

I do both if I’m going to be visiting foreign countries. Cruise package works greet when on the ship. International covers when off the ship. I’m doing it currently on Meraviglia.

Yeah I would do both, I accidently left my phone off airplane mode leaving port and it offered me the package.  Another time I didn't notice for a few hours and got some charges, luckily the wifi data picked up that I only had a few international texts (charge per text because I declined the package).  I think next time I will buy both.  If you don't do the cruise package you won't get non-iphone texts.

I would be interested in hearing comments on how downloads speeds compare between AT&T and the ship’s Wi-Fi.

Given the fact that there are two Wi-Fi packages to choose from, this may not be an easy comparison to make.
