Has Anyone Ever stayed in the forward facing suites on NCL?

We are considering the AC suite on the new Pride of Hawaii which is in the front of the ship facing forward and wanted to know what it was like sitting out on the balcony while the ship was under way. We were concerned that it may be too windy.

We have had both forward and aft facing cabins on the Dawn. Yes it can be a little windy, but we enjoy that. I would think that on your cruise it would be warm enough that it wouldn't matter. Actually the Dawn has a see through panel up to about waist high on the front of the deck so that ifyou are sitting on a chaise, there isn't much wind. We actually sat out our second night out of NY in January, and it was warm enough for no jacket.

The front suites are great...what a view!

 

It can be a bit windy especially under full speed at night. We did not keep our door open and missed the sound of the ocean and the smell of the sea air.

We were on the Dawn (in August) the first time we had the front suite and have booked it again on the Spirit this upcoming July.,

 

We had the aft suite on Celebrity's Millie and that was nice also, but very hot and not much of a breeze when sunbathing. The view is where you have been...but still panoramic!

 

Either aft or front, is better than the side in my opinion because of the view.

The front view is exciting when approaching ports and going under the bridge in NYC...you see what the Captain sees!!

If you book an AC, be sure to get one of the two on deck 10 in the center under the bridge bump out. These ACs are much bigger than the ones next to them and all of them on deck 9. Deck 9 has larger balconies and smaller cabins.

 

I believe P of HI is same layout is Dawn and Jewel. We had this AC on the Jewel and it was awesome.

 

The balcony can be windy if you're fully under sail, but I would imagine they don't really pick up too much speed sailing around the Hawaiian island because everything is so close together. On one of our days at sea, we were going rather slow and being out there was wonderful. Took a loooooooooong nap.

Yours will probably be decorated differently, but it will give you a basic layout. Note that the sitting area in this cabin has a long sofa and two chairs. The other ACs just have room for a loveseat and one chair.

Are the forward AC suites on deck 10 in the center larger on the Spirit also, or only the Jewel? If so which ones would you recommend?

The center ACs on 10 will be the same on all of the Dawn-like ships. They are the ones to "go for". Whatever you do, avoid the other 2 on 10 (the outer ones)- zero privacy from the bridge.

 

As to the front of the ship, yes, it can be a bit windy, but well worth it for the amazing view and expansive balconies.

I haven't stayed in an AC, but have twice stayed in an AA.

 

Like everyone has said the ones on deck 10 are larger. The wind won't be a problem for your cruise. Most of the sailing is done at night and you are in port for most of the daytime.

 

If you want to be out on the deck, close the door and the draft isn't that bad. Move the chairs closer to the door and that will help also.

We are trying to switch to the AC suite today. All of the advice has really helped. We are booked on the Pride of Hawaii on the May 22nd cruise from LA to Hawaii. We are going to be at sea for 4 days crossing the pacific and then another 7 days around Hawaii. We think these cabins would be perfect for this cruise. Thanks again to everyone for all your help.

I have an end front suite on the Spirit and it looked larger than the midddle ones.

I also heard that it has a side balcony as well.

 

Do you or anyone else know if this is true?
