Uber and shuttle drop off areas in Galveston

Are there different drop off areas for Uber and shuttles? We currently have an Uber scheduled, but we don’t want to be dropped off too far away from the check in and luggage drop off areas. Would taking a shuttle drop us off closer?

We will be on Regal Princess.

Our Uber driver dropped us off right in front of the pier and the luggage drop off was less that 100 ft away. This was after waiting for 30 minutes for him to have the chance to turn left into the port area. All the while we can see the Regal just out the window. It was torture by traffic jam.

Yes, we already cruised and what you replied was our experience as well. Our driver made a left turn, went past the entrance for the cruise ship and did a U turn to make a right turn into the drop off area. Much quicker than waiting for the traffic!
