tp700775 Posted January 19 #1 Share Posted January 19 Hello all, I’m sailing to Amsterdam on a round trip from the UK next month. I’m a UK passport holder. I want to buy a couple of items which ideally I could claim the VAT back in Amsterdam. Does anyone know how easy it is to get the customs stamps at Amsterdam port (and where/what I do)? I can see details relating to Amsterdam airport but struggling a bit in researching how to do this at the port. Thanks in advance
sleepingcat Posted January 21 #2 Share Posted January 21 recent thread on this: the link I found will give you the info you need. it sounds a pain, though. on our just completed cruise I decided not to bother given the value of what we bought. Cotswold Eagle Posted January 21 #3 Share Posted January 21 A more useful local link might be this from Dutch Customs. They list an office in Amsterdam for those leaving by sea, but it's nowhere near the PTA as far as I can see. Maybe contact them for more info, unless someone with direct experience in Amsterdam pops up! https://www.belastingdienst.nl/wps/wcm/connect/bldcontenten/belastingdienst/individuals/abroad_and_customs/luggage/leaving_the_netherlands/contact-customs-offices
