Pat41 Posted June 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2004 Has anyone ever flown into West Palm Beach International Airport for a Miami cruise? I can get the best rates on a non-stop fligh by flying into there rather than Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. We're flying the day before our cruise so the ride is not a problem. Questions 1. How long is the ride to the downtown Miami? Looks to be 70 miles or so. 2. Any recommendations on transportation and appoximate $$? 3. What is the condition of the airport? Is it nice? Thanks in advance for any responses. Pat the Beancounter
JJS2K3 Posted June 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2004 PBI is a nice airport. Nice shops; easy to get around. Takes about 90 minutes (+/-) to get to Miami depending on traffic. I don't know about transportation though. Elation
loudbmw Posted June 13, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2004 We had a return flight from Palm Beach. For our family of four it was cheaper to rent a car one way. We picked up the free rental car shuttle to the airport (in our case Ft. Lauderdale) and drove to Palm Beach Airport. The shuttle to the rental car (National) took a while to show up so I would not book anything too early. But we saved a lot of $ versus Miami or Ft Lauderdale. If you do rent, be sure to get a rental without a one way drop off fee. Some won't charge extra if you you specify your drop-off location. Bunkie103 Posted June 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2004 It's a nice compact little airport. No miles to trudge to the baggage claim. Mary Triumph Eastern 10/03 Victory CTN 6/17/04 Sensational Cruise from the Bayou 10/23/
