Empanadas on Umbrella Street

Has anyone ventured to Umbrella Strret and gotten empanadas?  We want to but not sure if it’s worth it?  What is the best way to do this?

If docked in Taino Bay it is a short 5-7 minute walk from port exit. Police officers on almost every corner to ensure security. There are a few food options on Umbrella Street.

 

Then Pink Alley is a short 3-5 minute walk from there.

 

I would suggest using the same route to get back to the port. We ( my 2 teens and I ) walked a bit in town and we quickly understood we were not that safe anymore. A local even told us this was not safe for tourists...

 

To and from Umbrella Street is safe, no problem, but not the rest of the sector...
