suron Posted March 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2006 HiWe will be in Victoria in May and are looking for a city tour that includes the garden-anyone with info on this tour could appreciate hearing from you and thanks What ship are you on and when? We are doing a Rockies Tour 22nd May followed by an Alaskan cruise on Dawn Princess on 27th May. We dock in Victoria at 7.30 p.m and sail again at midnight so there is very little time to do anything too involved. We plan to take the ship's excursion to see Butchart Gardens lit up at night. Friends visited the Gardens during the day and say they are spectacular - it all depends on just how long you are in port. If you have a long time in port you might like to consider going out independently. You could try www.shoretrips.com and check out what they have on offer - the have some very good trips for Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway but I have not checked them out for Victoria as we have more or less decided to go with the Princess tour due to time factors. Good Luck with your plans. Suron
hvsteve1 Posted April 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2006 If you want to play it by ear, when you get downtown, there are usually a bunch of Grey Line red double decker busses lined up waiting for people to book tours. Butchard Gardens is worth it if you like flowers, but it takes awhile to get there and back. It should be no problem killing half a day just walking around downtown Victoria with all its shops, pubs and restaurants.
