Susan I Posted March 31 #1 Share Posted March 31 We will be taking Viking Orion Vancouver to Seward in May. Our flight out of Anchorage isn’t until 3pm. Does anyone have experience as to how Viking handles the transfer to the airport for an afternoon flight? Thank you for your help.
haydn12 Posted March 31 #2 Share Posted March 31 Most of the flights are in the afternoon out of Anchorage. Our flight was around 2 pm back in October. We left around 8:00 am as there was construction between Seward and Anchorage. We were at the airport about 3 hours before our flight.
Orangegurl Posted April 1 #3 Share Posted April 1 Our flight out of Anchorage isn’t until 10pm. Is there a later bus or do they all depart early in the morning?
SparkyGal Posted June 17 #4 Share Posted June 17 How did that Viking transfer from Seward to Anchorage work out for you? We will be doing the same in August. Anything else you can tell us about your cruise? Thanks.
Ready to Sail! Posted June 17 #5 Share Posted June 17 Well, we have done a transfer (not Viking) after a cruise and driven round trip on our own, just last summer. Can’t help with timing of buses but will tell you Steward to Anchorage sit on the left side for best views of the water but other side not bad. Nice scenic trip. Orangegurl Posted June 18 #6 Share Posted June 18 Our Viking transfer to Anchorage was a delightful bonus at the end of our wonderful cruise. I expected to board a bus and be dropped off at the airport. Instead the busses went to a convention center downtown where our luggage was waiting in a ballroom monitored by several helpful attendants. Since our plane didn’t leave until 10:30pm we were able to explore the city, have a great dinner then return at our leisure to be transported to the airport on shuttle busses. For those folks who didn’t want to explore Anchorage, they could hang out at the convention center until time to go to the airport. Such a great perk! There’s a decent mall downtown also.
