Disembarkation from Taranto

Can I please know from cruisers who have recently disembarked from the port of Taranto when to book our flights from Bari or Brindisi at the earliest?

 

The itinerary for our cruise states that the ship arrives in Taranto at 9am. Allowing for transfers by pre-booked Taxi, what would be the earliest flight we can book from Bari or Brindisi please? I think bag-drop-off closes about 60 minutes before departure for flights to even within Italy/UK/Europe.

We are now back from the cruise so I thought I'll post our experience of getting to the port/airport from these two ports.

 

We managed to easily get to the port of Savona from Genoa airport. It cost us EUR 100 by taxi (four adults with two large suitcases and four small bags).

 

As the nearest airports to the port of Taranto were Bari or Brindisi, I decided to email and call Costa Cruises and the Port Authority for guidance. Both were not conclusive in any guidance provided with regards to the earliest flight on the day we can book if the ship arrival at Taranto was 9am. 

 

So we did not risk, I decided not to book the early afternoon direct flights (12:45 to London which was reasonably priced). Though there was another reasonably priced flight closer to midnight, this wasn't ideal for us as we would have left our cabin around 9am.

 

So we decided to stay a night and catch a flight the next day. This was a mistake (and expensive) as getting to the airport from the port of Taranto was very easy. Very easy/quick disembarkation, plenty of taxis at port means we could have easily made the flight at 12:45 as we were in Brindisi by 10:45am!
