Yes UNO! Definatly bring the dice and the dominoes if so inclined. If you find yourself alone at times and own a PSP you are golden :)

Edit: Also a good game is Worst Case Scenario, Just bring the cards alone and make your own board or just keep a score sheet :)

I always bring a deck of cards - yes you can usually get them on a cruise ship but I find it easier to just bring one with me. I also have a travel Yahtzee game that I bring and a travel Rummi-Cube. That takes more space but in a lounge on a cool afternoon or early evening it is fun.

We have a card game called Rage that was originally published by the makers of Uno that our family loves. Unfortunately, it's out of print, but you can find a German edition on the internet. On our first cruise, we were traveling with my 2 sisters and their husbands. We took several card games, including Rage, Rook, and Phase 10, along with dice and dominos. We also took an electronic version of catch phrase -- just be careful to take the batteries out before packing it. The security guard at the airport wasn't terribly amused at first when it started beeping  . Luckily it was right at the top of my sister's carryon, and she was able to take it out and show him where the sound was coming from.

For those of you that like Phase 10, I suggest a card game called Five Crowns. We got this for Christmas and it is great fun. Similar to Phase 10 but everyone moves forward to the next level. You don't have to obtain a certain phase to move on you just get stuck with points if someone goes out. Anyway, I got it on Amazon. Easy to fit in the suitcase and gives you a different card game. We also love Phase 10, Uno, and Skip-Bo. My husband wants to bring that Sorry card revenge game. That's his favorite. :)

We ended up playing Texas hold 'em with our own chips and cards on the pool deck on our recent cruise. There wasn't enough interest to get a real holdem game going in the casino, so we held our own :D

we bring cards and have a family euchre tournamnet that goes throughout the cruise. Kids draw for an adult partner and let the games begin! To add to the fun we all put in $5 and the winning pair get the money and a trophy! ( Note there are always at least 17 of us cruising together):D

So far the only one I can't believe the 20Q game didn't get was "BEER"

Yes! We tried that one as well :D Can't believe it couldn't work it out !!

A game we love to take away is a travel version of "Connect 4" - what do they say ... 5 minutes to learn and a lifetime to master ... or am I thinking of something else ???? :D :D :D

I'm getting set to go on my cruise, and am thinking of taking a few games with me. Anyone care to share suggestions for other cruisers? Looking for great games that are easy to pack or set up, great for the balcony, whatever you've done in the past -- let's hear it!

I for one, would like to suggest the 20Questions handheld game. If you haven't seen these, they're a little electronic advice that can guess what you're thinking of in 20 - 25 questions. Bought one for my nephew for christmas and then had to get one for myself. They're perfect for cruising because they're so small and lightweight--and very addicting!

Also, I think most cruiselines have chess or checkers, but do any of them carry any other board games like Scattergories?

Happy Cruising!

;) skip-bo, small and compact !
