Shella73 Posted April 16 #1 Share Posted April 16 Hello, I will be porting on September 3rd, 2024, from 1330 to 2200 from the NCL Viva. The itinerary claims we are a dock and not a tender. My husband and I have decided all we want is a beach day. The questions are 1) What beach? We would like one with services like chairs, umbrellas, food ( at least snacks), etc... 2) If they have services do we have to reserve it now? 3) How do we get there? 4) About how much should we expect it to cost? 5) What do you think we need to know? Thanks for your help
jgbrown Posted April 16 #2 Share Posted April 16 Have you looked at the cost of the NCL beach transfer? With the free at sea you get $50 off. The price is pretty hard to beat.
Shella73 Posted April 17 Author #3 Share Posted April 17 They don't specify which beach. So, I can't answer any of my questions. I I've asked the excursions desk and they won't specify either.
jgbrown Posted April 17 #4 Share Posted April 17 A local guide told be it is usually Elia or Kalafati beach. I plan on asking on Epic facebook pages where they went, but of course, the first cruise on the Epic to these ports doesn't start until this week. Rare Hlitner Posted April 22 #6 Share Posted April 22 A beach “day” with 1:30 arrival? Our norm would be to go into town, walk over to the bus stop near the windmills, and grab a bus to Paradise or Platis Gialos. But the late arrival makes this not practical. IMHO you would be smart to book the ship’s beach transfer or other similar excursion. Hank

You will still need to pay for chairs and an umbrella but you wouldn't have to worry about transportation and linguistic. And unfortunately for the Epic it states it is a tender port so booking through them made sense to get off the ship faster.
