I always visit the host on the last day.  While all the specialty dinners might be gone, I might get some wine or $$$ for Cherry on Top.  The Celebration host asked me if I had grandkids, then how many. Told him three so he gave me $150 to spend on the grands.  What a fun shopping spree.

That's the way to do it on EVERY cruiseline. We almost always never had extra onboard charges (yes,we are THOSE kind of cruisers) other than gratuities and casino slot charges. So there would be no charges that a casino host could 'wipeout',which technically they could do without notifying you. That's when, like you,on the last day we asked if we gambled enough for us to get some spending money to buy some souvenirs from the onboard shops. The casino hosts,on every cruiseline, will give us the exact amount we can spend, and then we go to the shops and buy stuff. A couple of years ago on a family Christmas cruise my husband,on the last day of the cruise had accumulated enough comps that he gave everyone in our family, 9 of us, $70 each to spend in the shops. It was a happy surprise to everyone in the family!

I thank everyone for their replies and suggestions.

To recap, at the end of my lovely 10 day cruise on the Carnival Venezia, I accumulated over 11,000 points and finished positive about $400. On the day I hit 10,000 points, I received an email from Carnival Players Club (rate code PXG) that I earned $2500 in cash from Carnival for playing over 10K points, which I don't truly understand how it works. If anyone can explain it, I would sincerely appreciate it. Thanks again

Do you mean Freeplay for a future cruise? Otherwise what you're saying doesn't make any sense. Carnival doesn't 'rebate' cash and certainly not $2,500 for only 10,000 points earned. What you're writing doesn't make any sense.
